Looking for something to do this weekend? Rhinelander will be hosting its first dogsled race on the Heal Creek Trails located at the Northwood Golf Course (3131 Golf Course Road) just west of Rhinelander Feb.26-27.

Pasties from Joe’s Pasty Shop, specialty brews from Rhinelander Brewing Company will be for sale, there will also be snowshoeing on trails, downhill sledding, live music by Big Road Band, and of course, the dog sled race. More information about the race can be found here.

• 1-2 Dog Skijor Pro (6 miles – skate ski)
• 1-2 Dog Skijor Sportsman (2 miles – skate ski)
• 2-Dog Sled Pro (2 miles)
• 4-Dog Sled: Pro, RNB, Sportsman (6 miles)
• 6-Dog Sled: Pro, RNB, Sportsman (6 miles)
• 8 Dog Sled: Pro, RNB (6 miles)
• 2-Dog Sled Junior (2 miles)
• 3-Dog Sled Junior (2 miles)

Saturday:

9 a.m. musher’s meeting

10 a.m. race start

11 a.m. – 2 p.m. lunch/food served

3 – 6 p.m. live music by Big Road Band

Sunday:

10 a.m. race start

11 a.m. – 2 p.m. lunch/food served

3 – 4 p.m. awards ceremony
