Rhinelander/Northland Pines snowboarders win conference

WAUSAU – Monday was the last conference meet of the Northern High School Ski and Snowboard Conference of Wisconsin at Granite Peak in Wausau.
The Rhinelander/Northland Pines snowboard team won conference as Max Durkee won all five runs to solidify his hold on first place and the boys also placed four in the top ten to win the team title. Nicole Long placed first Monday, winning four of the five runs.
Senior AJ Gillespie placed third overall and Riley Zarm fourth at Granite Peak. The Alpine skiers also placed four in the top ten. With only three skiers participating the girls did not get a team score. McKenna Nash was the Hodags’ top girl in tenth place.
