CRANDON – Ten suspects await court appearances in Forest County after being arrested on suspected drug charges last month.

According to the Forest County Sheriff’s Office, the dispatch center received a 911 call early in the morning Jan. 25 for a possible drug overdose in the town of Lincoln. When officers arrived on the scene they found two people in need of medical care. Narcan was administered and both were transported to Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital.

While on the scene, officers observed drugs and drug paraphernalia.

During the course of their investigation, the Forest County Drug Task Force located fentanyl, crack cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. It was also determined a vehicle was stolen from the residence, drugs were taken and several people fled the residence prior to law enforcement’s arrival.  A search of a second residence recovered the vehicle and more drugs, drug paraphernalia and drug packaging materials.

On Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 26, the Forest County Dispatch Center received a 911 call requesting assistance at the Laona Pharmacy for a possible drug overdose. Narcan was once again administered and the individual was transported to the hospital. It was determined the overdose occurred in an apartment, which was searched. Items located included fentanyl, heroin, codeine, oxycodone, marijuana, nitrous oxide and prescription pills.

Two men were found hiding in the apartment building and were arrested. Through this investigation, it is alleged that all of the people arrested were involved together in a previous burglary and two traffic stops.
