Obituary: Duane L. Johnson

Duane “Tuffy” L. Johnson, age 87 of Rhinelander died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021. He was born June 1, 1934, in Elcho to Linn and Gladys (Anderson) Johnson.

Duane is survived by his wife, Carole; children, Gary (Martha) Johnson of Elcho, Terry Johnson (Lee Oberto) of Bessemer, Mich., and Jerry “Moose” (Susie) Johnson of Rhinelander; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Virginia) Johnson of Marshfield; sisters-in-law, Linda Johnson of Texas, Edris Johnson of Rhinelander and Marie Johnson of Minnesota; other relatives and many friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, David Johnson; five brothers, Robert, James, Glen, Verne and Kenneth Johnson; two sisters, Mary Ellen Knuth and Peg Maney.

A visitation will be held 10 a.m.-noon, Aug. 28, followed by a memorial service. Inurnment will take place at Northland Memorial Park.  (Hildebrand Funeral Home)
