New RCF fund looks to city’s sesquicentennial
By Star Journal staff
The Rhinelander Community Foundation (RCF) has announced the establishment of a new endowment fund. The Taylor – Rhinelander Centennial Fund will finance a celebration of Rhinelander’s 150th anniversary in 2032 and every 50 years thereafter. The fund was created by Fran and Brad Taylor. Brad was born and raised in Rhinelander and graduated from Rhinelander Union High School in 1964.
The fund name honors Brad’s parents, Doug and Dorothy Taylor. Doug was the chairman of the Rhinelander Centennial celebration in 1982. Brad’s great-grandfather, Arthur Taylor, founded a water and soft drink business in 1891, including Coca-Cola, around 1900, and the Taylor family operated the business for nearly 100 years.
