Obituary: Phyllis McCarty
Phyllis N. McCarty, age 84 of Rhinelander, died Thursday, April 1, 2021. She was born July 19, 1936, in Gillespie, Ill., to Ibel O. and Eunice (Winstead) Hooper.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Brenda (Dan) Abert of Edwardsville, Ill., Wayne (Lisa) Fanning of Monico and Kenny (Rita) Fanning of Rhinelander; stepchildren, David, Dawn, Debbie and Sherry; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pat, Peg and Linda; other family and friends; and her dog, Lucky.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Fanning; second husband, Richard McCarty; five stepchildren, Wayne, Bruce, Allen, John and Diane; two brothers, Owassa and Buster; and three sisters, Wanda, Rea and Joanne.
