Star Journal Report

Students taking business classes at Rhinelander High School learned how quickly pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters can add up. The FLBA/DECA club sponsored its annual Penny Wars pitting classes taught by Mischelle Fryar and Patrick Kubeny  against each other to raise the most money.

This year produced a record total of $1,064.21 over five days. Kubeny’s fifth hour accounting II class was declared the winner. The proceeds will be split between FLBA/DECA’s national charities, March of Dimes and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Future Business Leaders of America, FBLA, and DECA are national organizations that Rhinelander High School has combined into one club. The club focuses on building business skills, giving new opportunities to tudents, competition and serving the Rhinelander community and charities.
