Farmers to Families food distribution set for Feb. 4

The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry (RAFP) will be holding a “Farmers to Families” food giveaway Thursday, Feb. 4. Distribution will begin about 10 a.m. At this time the Food Pantry does not know what will be in the boxes.

Hosted by Feeding America, there is a one box limit unless picking up on behalf of a home-bound individual. This distribution is open to the public, but is intended for households in need.

Distribution is at the RAFP, 627 Coon Street in Rhinelander, entering behind the pantry from Carr Street exiting on to Coon Street. The line will start at the RAFP driveway on Carr Street, to Coon Street then turn right on Newell Street and line up on side of the cemetery.

Do not block driveways, including the cemetery entrances and exits. The boxes will be loaded into your trunk if it has room and is open. If it has to be placed in the vehicle, you will need to load it yourself. This is a no-contact pickup so everyone coming through the line will be required to wear a face covering.

In 2020, the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry distributed 1,080,307 pounds of food through their regular food pantry distributions and these extra Farmers to Families distributions.
