Star Journal report

The Northern Edge girls hockey team hosted only their second home game of the season Monday night at the RIA, hosting the Northland Pines Eagles.

The score at the end of the first period ended in a 0-0 tie with the Edge holding a slight advantage in shots on goal. In the second period Pines took advantage of some defensive lapses and scored two goals, with the Edge still outshooting the Eagles 20-9.

The Edge had six more shots on goal in the third and could not get any by the Pines goalie. The Eagles increased their pressure and put 16 shots on goal in the third and scored four more goals and earned a 0-6 win over the Edge. Photos by Bob Mainhardt.
