Corrections officer arrested for solicitation

An Oneida County corrections officer was arrested Monday for solicitation of prostitution and misconduct in public office. Jacob Petitt, 26, will appear in court Wednesday Jan. 13.
An investigation by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the state Department of Justice involved Petitt having contact with females who had been incarcerated at the Oneida County jail. Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is asked to contact Det. Kelly Moermond at the sheriff’s office.
