Ronald D. Appling, age 83 of the town of Crescent, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, at home with his family at his side. Ron was born Jan. 29, 1937, in Pottawattamie County, Iowa to Ralph and Ruth I. (Reynolds) Appling.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Mark (Marjorie) Hilliard of Michigan, Aaron (Connie) Appling of Rhinelander, and Brion (DeAnn) Appling of Minnesota; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; brothers, Ray (Nancy) of Oklahoma, Paul (Beverly) of Arizona; sister-in-law, Louise Appling of Illinois; brother-in-law, Don House of California; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eldon; and sister, Carolyn House. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 14, at Nativity of Our Lord Church. (Hildebrand Funeral Home)
