The second of the high-risk sports, volleyball, got underway last week. The Hodags hosted Mosinee, last year’s conference champions. Under new head coach Jim Povolo, the girls were trying to earn their first conference win, something they have not accomplished in the last couple of years.

Mosinee showed why they are defending champions, defeating Rhinelander 25-13. 25-11 and 25-13.

Ariel Pauer blocks a kill attempt. Junior Carly Schmidt passes the ball from the corner in game one. Senior Emily Jorgensen serves. Ava Lamers hits a ball over the net.
