Jake Losch, Ty Welk, and Jack DeNamur take off from the start line as part of the second wave of runners.

STAR JOURNAL REPORT

On a beautiful sunny afternoon the Hodags hosted five conference schools at CAVOC for another cross country race. The boys ran first and as last week, the top school was Medford, followed by Lakeland and in third again was Rhinelander – only seven points behind Lakeland.

Cal Laggis continued his strong season by finishing up one place to third this week.  Laggis was followed by Jaden Beske and Ty Welk for the top three Hodags. Also scoring were Cody Ruetz in 16th place and Daniel Goldsworthy in 20th.

On the girls side the Hodags again finished fourth with some position changes as Abigale Henrichs finished first for the girls and Alision DeNamur was second to Henrichs.

The top 4 runners for the Hodags placed 14,15,16 and 18, with Ella Schiek, 28; all within a second of each other. Third for the Hodags was freshman Leah Jamison and Emma Germain was the fourth Hodag to cross the line. Coming next for the runners is a meet at Lakeland’s Winter Park on Tuesday.
