Obituary: Larry Monk, Jr.
Lawrence A. “Larry” Monk Jr., age 80 of Sugar Camp, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020. Larry was born April 19, 1940, in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. to Lawrence and Ruth (Bedell) Monk.
He served 21 years in the Navy as a submariner.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mary (Paffrath) of Sugar Camp; sisters, Sue Frentner and Marilyn Shooltz of Michigan; his children, Andrew, Theresa, Stephen, Jeremy, Jennifer Mikkelson, Jason, Jill Kane, Jessica Hipke, Jonathan, Ben, Nick and Zach; 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan (Rank); his parents; and brother, Raymond.
A celebration of life was held Sept. 5 at Rhinelander Church of Christ. (Hildebrand Funeral Home)
