The YMCA of the Northwoods has announced that its Building for the Future capital campaign has received a lead gift in the amount of $50,000.
The donation, from Dr. Judy Pagano-Thoms (pictured speaking at the campaign kickoff in July) and Bob Thoms, will go toward the $2 million dollar goal to expand the Y’s physical spaces.
Plans include doubling the current child care capacity, adding nine early learning classrooms, adding 8,000 square feet of multi-purpose gymnasium space, expanding out-of-school enrichment programming to support families in the community, among other features.
Pagano, who chairs the capital campaign, said she and Toms have been “Huge Y supporters starting with the Founders Campaign and continuing to today.” The campaign to date has raised $1.3 million. For more information, visit ymcaofthenorthwoods.org.
