City voters will cast November ballots in new dome

STAR JOURNAL REPORT
Voters in the city of Rhinelander will cast their ballots for the November presidential election in the School District of Rhinelander’s dome. The agreement between the district and the city was announced at Monday night’s school board meeting.
“We are so appreciative of the fact that we’ve been granted this privilege of using this facility,” said Rhinelander City Clerk Val Foley. “As you well know we have a lot of issues finding adequate places for elections. This is wonderful…the taxpayers will get to see the facility, which is awesome because we have an aging population that never get into the schools.”
The school board learned that delivery of a key piece of electrical equipment for dome construction is slightly delayed. However, project engineer John Kneer, president of Rettler Corporation said the dome is expected to be open Oct. 2.
