Obituary: Vincent Jordan
Vincent R. Jordan, age 94 of Rhinelander passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Friendly Village Nursing Home.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; son, Thomas; grandson, Tom Jordan, Jr.; and great-grandson, Cobi Jordan of Wausau; nephews, Brian and Scott Campbell of Cudahy; and Brent and Peter Dalson of Florida.
Vincent served in World War II from 1943 to 1946. After the war, he was in motor pool and military government, stationed in Berlin, Germany, as personal driver for General Bill Donovan.
He was an avid sportsman and loved hunting and fishing, was very active in scuba diving in the Great Lakes, and owned the first scuba shop in Northern Wisconsin in the late 50s. He loved flying planes after returning from World War II, and was active in local Civil Air Patrol.
Vincent built the Fireside Supper Club in 1952 and ran it until the early 60s. He worked most of his life as a truck driver and retired from Print Pack in 1990. In his retirement, he enjoyed 24 years of fishing on Lake Superior. His last few years, he spent at his home on Town Line Lake, then the past two years at Friendly Village Nursing Home.
He will be missed by his family and fishing buddies. A private family gathering will be planned at a later date.
