Finishing touches are being completed on the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry’s (RAFP) renovated kitchen. The work is the most recent upgrade to the RAFP since its humble beginnings in 2005. The remodel includes new flooring donated by Carpetiers Carpet One, discounted cabinets from Home Depot and paint from Sherwin Williams. CR Meyer donated a front desk unit, United Rentals donated the use of a floor tile removing machine and installation labor was donated by volunteers. The updated kitchen will provide a better learning environment for the food preparation classes that were introduced last year, in conjunction with UW-Extension. To date the RAFP has distributed in excess of 6.4 million pounds of food to area families in need.
