Hodags hockey hosts Medford in GNC tourney game
Medford traveled to Rhinelander for a conference tournament game Tuesday night. The Raiders were outshot by the Hodags 42-22, but could not get anything past the Medford goalie who turned away all the shots.
The Raiders took advantage of two power play opportunities, one in the first period after a crosscheck penalty on Harlan Wojtusik and in the second on a Joe Schneider penalty. Medford only committed one penalty and was able survive the Hodag power play and did not allow a goal the entire game, going home with a 2-0 win.
Seth Stafford, in goal for the Hodags, had 20 saves. Stafford was pulled in the final 1:36 of the third to get a 6-on-5 advantage but, were unable to score even with a great deal of pressure in front of the Medford net.
