Rhinelander City Hall doors locked; search warrants executed

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office executed two state search warrants at Rhinelander City Hall Thursday. Chief Deputy Dan Hess said the warrants were issued for tampering with public records and misconduct in public office.
Oneida County Sheriff’s Detectives along with Detectives from Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, and Wisconsin Department of Justice – Digital Forensics Support assisted in the warrants. Hess said no arrests have been made and that today’s event was part of an on-going investigation, which continues.
At 1 p.m. Thursday, Oneida County Deputies were stationed at the doors, and said that City Hall is closed today.
