Area Veterans Day events planned

Originally called Armistice Day to commemorate the end of World War I on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, and honor veterans of that war. In June, 1954, Congress amended the name of the day to “Veterans” to honor American veterans of all wars.
