Obituary: Duane Henrichs
Duane David Henrichs, age 84, passed away with his family by his side Oct. 6, 2019, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau. Duane was born in Merrill to Carl and Margaret Henrichs. He worked for Constondus Construction, building industrial smoke stacks, including the smoke stacks that are still standing at the Rhinelander Paper Mill. On Aug. 2, 1958, he married the love of his life, Carol Kay Sutton. They recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. In 1960, he went to work for the Rhinelander Paper Mill, retiring in 1997.
Duane was an avid musky fisherman, deer hunter, and loved camping with family and friends. He did woodworking for many years, including building many things for his children and grandchildren. He loved to go ice fishing, and enjoyed traveling throughout the country.
Duane is survived by his wife Carol; three daughters, Tammy, Cindy (Joe), and Debora; two sisters, Nancy and Susan; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert and Jerome; sister, Lu Ellen; and brothers-in-law, Walter and Larry.
A celebration of life will be held noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Cabaret Cove (formerly Taj Mahall), 1540 Pueblo Drive, Rhinelander.
