Headwaters celebrates its 50th anniversary
Headwaters, Inc. celebrated 50 years of empowering people with disabilities during an open house Friday at the organization’s facility on Timber Drive in Rhinelander. Parents, clients, staff and affiliates toured the facility, looked at photos and reminisced. In 1969 a group of Rhinelander area parents and community members, Catholic Charities Bureau and Fr. Brendan Kunda founded the program. While always working to change lives, clients at first learned independent living skills; today adults with disabilities are attending college and working and volunteering in the community.
