Tomahawk long-term care facility receives award

A skilled nursing facility in Tomahawk received a 2019 bronze level Commitment to Quality award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living. State Sen. Tom Tiffany (R-Minocqua) and State Rep. Mary Felzkowski (R-Irma) presented a legislative citation for that award to Tomahawk Health Services.
“We were honored to have both Sen. Tiffany and Rep. Felzkowski visit our center and present us with a Legislative citation recognizing our journey in quality improvement,” said Jim Torgerson, executive director of Tomahawk Health Services. “We greatly appreciate their support of the long-term care provider community and the work that we do to serve seniors in the state of Wisconsin.”
The distinction is the first of three progressive award levels through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. Hammond Health Services may now move forward in developing approaches and achieving performance levels that meet the Silver – Achievement in Quality Award criteria.
