Sugar Camp man arrested in connection with motorcycle fatality

Jeffrey Liebscher, 53 of Sugar Camp, will appear in Oneida County Court Aug. 30 in connection with the death of a motorcyclist  Wednesday night. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office is recommending charges of hit-and-run causing death and homicide by negligent use of a vehicle.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call came in approximately 10:23 p.m. Aug. 28. The caller reported a motorcycle in the middle of the road on Hwy 17; the driver was reportedly not breathing.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Sean Holtslander, 23 of St. Germain. The accident remains under investigation.
