Obituary: Thomas V. Wakely

Thomas V. Wakely, age 79 of Rhinelander, died Tuesday Aug. 27, 2019, at his residence and under the care of hospice.

Tom was born Dec. 18, 1939, in Milwaukee to Elmer W. and Monica M. (Moore) Wakely. He served in the Army in the 519th Military Intelligence Unit.

He is survived by his children, Michael Wakely of Rhinelander, Christine (Bob) Nelson of Merrill, Mitchell Wakely of Rhinelander, Christopher Wakely of Antigo, Jess Wakely of Wausau, Jessica (Mike) Rygg of Shawano, Ann (Kyle) LaDean of Starks, Victoria (Jeff) Pacrath of New London and John Wakely of Rhinelander; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Katie Gibbs of Lebanon, Ore., and Gloria Biesik of Rhinelander; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James; sister, Pat Palm; brothers-in-law, Woodsie Gibbs and Peter Biesik.

The visitation for Tom will be held Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, at St. Kunegunda Catholic Church in Sugar Camp, from 10 a.m. until the 11  a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Fr. Bala Reddy Allam will be officiating. Immediately following the Funeral Mass all are invited to attend the Committal Service at St. Kunegunda of Poland Catholic Cemetery.  (Hildebrand Funeral Home)
