Northwoods Land Trust (NWLT) Conservation Easement donors Scott and Ann Eshelman will be hosting a demonstration on wild ricing Sunday, Sept. 8, from noon-3 p.m., meeting at the Apperson Drive boat launch. The property includes nearly one mile of upland shoreland frontage on the Rhinelander Flowage, and most of the ‘Munninghoff Marsh’ wetland.

Participants will harvest wild rice which will then be processed and donated to the Rhinelander Food Pantry. Ricing sticks and push poles will be provided. Participants will need to provide their own canoe, PFDs, water, raingear and water shoes. Register by calling the Northwoods Land Trust office at 715-479-2490 or email troy@northwoodslandtrust.org by Thursday, Sept 5. Space is limited.

NWLT is a non-profit organization that works with private landowners who wish to voluntarily conserve their properties. Based in Eagle River, WI, NWLT serves Vilas, Oneida, Forest, Florence, Iron, Price and northern Langlade counties.
