On the proliferation of tactical firearms
Editor,
I have been in the military, on rifle teams, carried enforcement credentials, a lifetime hunter and owner of guns and as a civilian could get along well with single-shot firearms (admittedly, I do own some repeaters). Owners of muzzle-loaders got along well with a single-shot. My grandfather always said when hunting, “Make the first shot count.” I do.
Something to think about.
I’m disappointed at the proliferation of “tactical” firearms (ugly guns) and the stated justification for them that weakens with every misuse of an AR-15 or lookalike. I do suppose this note will prompt letters justifying having more than a two-shot magazine capacity.
I remain curious.
