Law enforcement responds to incident at Nicolet College entrance

Oneida County law enforcement, the Rhinelander Fire Department and Pelican First Responders were called to the entrance to Nicolet College just before 4 p.m. Thursday.
A 911 call reported a male with a gunshot wound lying face down at the entrance to Nicolet, off of Co. Hwy G., and that there was also a gun on the ground near the body.
Oneida County Sgt. Tyler Young reported the man transported to Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander, where the man died from his injuries. Young said the initial investigation indicates it was a self-inflicted gunshot. The investigation remains under investigation.
