Obituary: Michael R. Clapper

Michael R. Clapper, age 70, formerly of Rhinelander, died Friday, April 26, 2019, at the Veterans Home in King. Mike was born Dec. 1, 1948, in Rhinelander to Raymond and Delphine (Seaman) Clapper.

Mike enlisted in the Navy, serving 1967-1972. He was stationed in Morocco on the U.S.S. Seattle (AOE-3).

He is survived by his children, Justin Clapper of Rhinelander, Jessie Clapper (Jason Cady) of Two Rivers, Tara (Kevin) Tessmann of Bundy; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; step-children, Michelle (Tim) Zeske of Crivitz and Bart (Carol) Musil of Woodbury, Minn.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ted; and five sisters, Carmen, Laurie, Gail, Geri and Carol.

A celebration of Mike’s life will take place 9-11 a.m., Friday, May 3, at the Hildebrand Funeral Home, to be followed by a memorial Service conducted by Chaplain Wayne Schwanke of the Veterans Home. A committal service with military honors will be held at Forest Home Cemetery. (Hildebrand Funeral Home)
