Three Lakes trap team receives gun donation
The Three Lakes High School trap team has received a donation of five dedicated trap guns from the Three Lakes Fish and Wildlife Improvement Association. The donation is valued at $5,000.
Trap team coach Al Votis said the dedicated trap shotguns are better than hunting shotguns because athletes can change the hold and aim of the guns, which gives a better view of the target.
The Three Lakes trap team has 31 members in grades 7-12; the club covers all fees, shells and clay targets for the team. Clay target shooting is the fastest-growing sport in Wisconsin, with more than 1,300 athletes participating in last year’s state tournament.
