Ascension Wisconsin opens pharmacy in Rhinelander

Star Journal report
The pharmacy at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital is open again. The retail pharmacy, located at the entrance to Ascension Medical Group in Rhinelander, was run as Stoxen’s Pharmacy for decades, then as Hometown pharmacy, and has been reopened as Ascension Wisconsin Pharmacy.
Lead pharmacist Tabitha Bennish is from Gleason and attended Merrill High School. She attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where she received both her bachelor’s in Nutritional Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She previously served the residents of Rhinelander working at Stoxen pharmacy and with Hometown pharmacies.
“I am excited to be back to again serving the patients of Ascension St. Mary’s and Ascension Medical Group as well as the entire community,” said Bennish. “Before anyone begins a drug treatment and at any time throughout its course, explaining outcomes, possible side effects and answering questions is important.”
Discharge pharmacist Allison Grafwallner hails from Conover and graduated from Northland Pines High School. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Concordia University – Wisconsin.
“Receiving the proper information about medications and their management can help people take charge of their long-term wellness,” said Grafwallner. “I look forward to working with our team to prevent disease, speed up recovery and enhance comfort for our patients.”
Pharmacy technicians Robynn Marten and Ashley Salzman have been long time residents of Rhinelander and grew up locally. Salzman recently worked for a local veterinary pharmacy, while Marten had a previous role at Ascension St. Mary’s in Rhinelander.
Operating hours are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Pharmacy accepts prescriptions from all providers and most major insurance plans. For more information, call 715-361-4770.
