Running water credits end for city residents

Star Journal Report
The city of Rhinelander Water Utility has announced that the running water credit for utility customers has ended for the 2018 winter season.
A press release states that frost has now released from ground surfaces in the service area and based on the seasonal warming trend being observed, it will no longer be necessary to run water to prevent freezing in the public water system.
Running water credit will not be allowed for water supplies metered after March 31, 2019. Whereas the city has issued approval to run water to specific customers again this year, the approved customer activity will be charged for water and sewer use in relation to the average uses metered in our system normally during the designated time period for this activity.
It appears the running water credit system has successfully minimized the freezing that can occur in the public water system and reduced our overall operational costs.
