Obituary: Victor Zettler

Victor “Vic” P. Zettler, age 101 of Rhinelander, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019,  at Grace Lodge with his family at his side. Vic was born in Jan. 8, 1918 in Stratford to Louis and Frances (Schultz) Zettler. He served in the military during WWII, from 1940 to 1945.

Vic is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Wally) Neys of Brimfield, Ill., and Venice, Fla.; three grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Vic is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Katherine; two brothers, Don and Ray Zettler, and one sister, Gen Rose.

The visitation for Vic will take place Monday, March 4, from 10 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, with Fr. Kevin Farrell officiating. A committal service will follow at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Ray Rousseau V.F.W. Post 3143 and two representatives from the United States Army.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Ray Rousseau V.F.W. Post 3143 in Rhinelander, Meals on Wheels, or to the Salvation Army. (Hildebrand Funeral Home)
