Sex offender released to Eagle River

Thomas J. Solokis

Vilas County Sheriff Joe Fath has announced a released sex offender is living in Eagle River. Thomas J. Solokis, 36, was released from the Wisconsin Prison System Jan. 15 and is now on extended supervision through the Department of Corrections until January 2034. He is residing at 418 E. Pine St., Eagle River.

Solokis was convicted in 2002 of second degree sexual assault of a child for forcibly sexually assaulting a 16-year old female acquaintance and in 2009 of false imprisonment and second degree sexual assault of a child for sexually assaulted a 13-year old female acquaintance.

Fath also stated Solokis is subject to lifetime GLS monitoring and will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program for life. Anyone with questions is asked to contact Chief Mark VanderBloomen, 715-479-4343.
