Building named in honor of late LDF tribal leader
Following the recent passing of Lac du Flambeau leader Michael W. Allen, Sr., the tribal council voted to rename a building in his honor. Allen, who died Dec. 18, served as tribal chair, vice chair, tribal secretary and council members, and also served as executive director for Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council (GLITC). The council voted Dec. 19 to rename the GLITC Building the Michael W. Allen, Sr. Building.

Drs. Allen, Bergman welcome new chiropractor
Advanced Health Natural Health Improvement Center in Rhinelander, has announced the addition of a chiropractor to the practice. Dr. Rick Olson is a graduate of Palmer College and has been practicing chiropractic and nutrition care for over 28 years. Y hosts bus trip to garden show in Madison
The YMCA of the Northwoods is hosting a coach bus trip to the Garden and Landscape Show at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison Feb. 9. Human trafficking presentation
Northland Pines Middle and High School auditorium is where a presentation to raise awareness of human trafficking is taking place Friday, Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m. The program will be presented by Northwoods residents Butch and Jean Fitzpatrick, who are members of the international organization Shared Hope. Learn about the Fitzpatrick’s story and how they are working to prevent exploitation of women and children. The material presented is appropriate for high school students accompanied by parents, and adult community members.
