Flexible class format available at Nicolet College

Working adults interested in attending Nicolet College may find doing both easier now with a recently introduced program.

“With the new Nicolet My Way format, students set their own schedules,” said Angeline von Neupert, Nicolet College career coach. “By featuring flexible open labs and online classes, the students decide when they complete their coursework. They can make college as traditional or as flexible as they want. This makes it much more convenient for anyone with a job and family responsibilities to earn a college credential.”

Nicolet College is holding a “Quick Start” event Wednesday, Dec. 5 for anyone looking to enroll in classes. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Red Oak Center, students will be able to complete many, if not all, of the steps necessary to enroll at Nicolet.

At Quick Start people will be able to:
• Meet with a Career Coach to discuss career options and the various academic paths available to train for a career.
• Talk with an Academic Advisor to register for classes and set up a class schedule that fits in with other responsibilities.
• Complete the Admission Application.
• Learn about financial aid and start the financial aid application process.
• Learn about payment plans the college has available.
Everyone planning on attending Quick Start is encouraged to RSVP at nicoletcollege.edu/visit.

Individuals looking to enroll should also bring their high school or college transcripts, if available. Those needing help getting their transcripts before the event are encouraged to contact the Nicolet Welcome Center at 715-365-4493 for assistance.

Nicolet staff will also be on hand at Quick Start to help students retrieve transcripts electronically. There’s often a fee to do this, so a credit or debit card will be needed.

Those attending Quick Start will have all assessment fees waived, which can total $30 in savings.

Nicolet academic programs currently offered in the flexible Nicolet My Way format include Welding, Information Technology, Accounting, and Business Management. More programs are expected to adopt the format in 2019.

The college currently offers more than 60 associate degrees, diplomas, certificates, and apprenticeships. Many of these also feature online classes that offer a degree of flexibility in a traditional semester structure.

Spring Semester classes start Wednesday, Jan. 16.
