Saturday, Nov. 10

Soup for Shelter: 5 p.m., Nativity of Our Lord church, Rhinelander. Soup provided by local restaurants, raffles and door prizes. Admittance by donation. Proceeds benefit Frederick Place and Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Shelter.
Christmas Bazaar: 10:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. at the St. Germain Community Center. The craft show features fresh wreaths and garland, cookies sold by the pound, children’s activities, raffles and a visit from Jolly Old St. Nick. For more information call (715) 542.2881.
GNC All-Conference Band and Choir Festival: 5 p.m., Rhinelander High School. Select band and choir students from area Great Northern Conference schools under the direction of guest conductors will perform for the community. Admission is $4. For more information, 715-365-9700.
God Bless America Again: 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Townsend Town Hall. Musical tribute to military heroes presented by Wabeno American Legions Auxiliary Unit 44. Doors open one hour prior to performances. Reserved seating is available for those with disabilities by calling 715-276-6515.
Indoor Farmers Market: 9 a.m.-noon at YMCA of the Northwoods. Weekly vendors vary; products sold to include eggs, root crops and mixed vegetables, pumpkins, apples, jams, jellies, salsa, cheese, homemade breads and more. For more information, call 715-362-9622 ext. 118.
Holiday Market: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. ArtStart Rhinelander is hosting its first Holiday market, mirroring the traditional open-air markets of northern Europe. Locally made handcrafted gifts and decorations, baked goods and holiday beverages. Featured are grilled brats, live entertainment and shopping. Free admission. “Down to Earth”: 7 p.m., Nancy Volk Auditorium at Wabeno High School. Original one-act comedy written and performed by the cast from Laona/Wabeno High School. Features new songs written by students. Admission if $5, free for veterans and active duty/reserve military.
“Over the River and Through the Woods”: 7:30 p.m., Nicolet College Theater. Nicolet Players perform the comedy that revolves around a close-knit Italian family, and grandparents who scheme to keep their grandson close to home.Tickets available at nicoletlive.com or call 715-365-4646.
Christmas Bazaar: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, 235 N. Stevens St., Rhinelander. Featuring Trinity’s famous lefse, bakery, handcrafted items, wreaths, decor and more. Warm Welcome coffee/tea and bakery treat from 9-10 a.m. Lunch available. Sponsored by Welca with proceeds used on mission projects.

Sunday, Nov. 11

Violin and Piano Recital: 4 p.m., Rhinelander Historical Society. Featuring Robert Schubert, violinist and Mara Prausa, pianist. Reception will follow. Seating is limited. Call for tickets and information, 715-362-2310 or 715-360-0400.

Go Big Read: 5:30 p.m., Rhinelander District Library. All-inclusive book club across Wisconsin, “The Death and Life of the Great Lakes,” by Dan Egan. Book discussion facilitated by Tom Jerow, Stephanie Boisemenue and Marcia Obukowicz. Books available for checkout at the library. 715-365-1070.

Tuesday, Nov. 13

GFWC Rhinelander Woman’s Club: 11:30 a.m., Lower level Days Inn. Monthly meeting. Guest speaker is Vietnam veteran Paul Miller. Guests are welcome. 715-369-9528.
Immanuel Lutheran Church Blood Drive: 2-6 p.m., 21 W. Timber Dr., Rhinelander. Schedule an appointment by calling Jackie, 715-482-0513. Walk-ins welcome.
Parent/Tot Time: 10 a.m., Thursdays, Rhinelander District Library. Twenty-minute program for ages two to three-and-a-half accompanied by an adult. Also Story Time at 10 a.m., Thursdays, Rhinelander District Library. A 40-minute program for ages three-and-a-half to six. Wednesday, Nov. 14

Sensory Storytime: 10:15 a.m., Rhinelander District Library. Inclusive program is designed to meet the needs of all abilities; including autism spectrum, sensory processing issues and kids who just can’t sit still. The storytime will engage all the senses through stories, movement, music and play. Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. through Dec. 12. 715-365-1070.
