Area Veterans Day celebrations Friday, Nov. 9

The Oneida County Veterans memorial is located on the Courthouse lawn.

STAR JOURNAL

James Williams Middle School: 8:30-9:30 a.m., in the auditorium. Music by the JWMS music department. Guest speaker is Tammy Javenkoski, Oneida County Veterans Service Officer. Refreshments will follow.

Oneida County Veterans Council: 11 a.m., Veterans Monument on the Oneida County Courthouse lawn. Nativity of Our Lord choir will perform. Guest speaker is veteran and Rhinelander Mayor Chris Frederickson.

Roots Celebration: 1:45-3:15 p.m., Rhinelander High School auditorium. Oral history of WWII sponsored by the Rhinelander Historic Preservation Commission. Several WWII veterans will talk about their military experience during the war.

Everyone is invited to attend these events that honor the men and women who proudly served their country. For more information, contact the Oneida County Veterans Service Office, 715-369-6127.
