The town of Pelican Community Club held its annual picnic last month. Two of the more popular events of the day include a little friendly competition, one involving crayfish and the other, eggs.

Winners of the Egg Toss were Amy Steel and Sue Wege.

First place winner of the Crawdad Race was Emma Bierman; second place went to Callie Hoerchler; Lindsay Hoerchler took third place and Lorelai Ayelsworth rounded out the contest, taking fourth.

The Egg Toss was won by the community’s “resident chickens,” Amy Steel and Sue Wege.

The picnic was also a fundraiser which allowed the club to donate $500 to Wild Instincts wildlife rehabilitation and $500 to the Personal Essentials Pantry.
