Rev. Gay R. Frisinger, age 81 of Sugar Camp, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018.  He was born Nov. 9, 1936, in Barron, to the late Arthur and Dea (Bryngelson) Frisinger. He was married to Joann Dietrich in 1961 and together they had two children; she passed away in 2003.  He was later married to Carol Wehmhoefer Sept. 25, 2004; she survives.

Gay grew up in Barron and was a 1955 graduate of the Barron High School.  Following high school, he attended the North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minn., and the Life Bible College in Los Angeles, Calif., graduating in pastoral ministries in 1959.  He later went on and received his Bachelor’s degree in Education.  In Gay’s younger years, he farmed and raised appaloosa horses, receiving many 4-H blue ribbons showcasing his livestock. Gay was a faithful servant in the Lord’s ministry for over 50 years.  He was an avid Packers fan and loved being in the outdoors of the Northwoods where he could hunt and fish. One of his most cherished memories was when he and his granddaughter, Ellie, shared in the excitement of catching a 40” musky.  He was a truly compassionate man who loved life, his family, and his friends.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Frisinger, of Sugar Camp; two sons, Daniel Frisinger of Rhinelander and Barron, and Mark Fredric Frisinger of Rhinelander; three daughters, Teri (Deb) Kaye of Waukesha, Toni (Shawn Will) Everson of Rhinelander and Tracy (Joel) Swanson of Cottage Grove, Minn.; many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Pastor Gay Frisinger will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at Grace Foursquare Church in Rhinelander at 11 a.m., with Pastor Joseph Fehlen officiating. Visitation with the family will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  A memorial service will again be held at the Foursquare Church in Barron on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at 10 a.m., with Pastor Chad Halvorsen officiating.  Inurnment will follow at the Barron Wayside Cemetery.  (Generations Funeral Home)
