Obituary: Marjorie DeWalt

Marjorie Erma Hetzel DeWalt, age 104 of Rhinelander, Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 after a brief illness, at Rennes Health and Rehab.  She was born Jan. 7, 1914, in Roosevelt, Okla., to Eugene and Ina Hetzel.

Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Janette (Edward) Smuts of Brattleboro, Vt., and Nelda (Alan) Boettcher of Augusta, Ga,; daughter-in-law, Louaina DeWalt; three sisters, Lita Daniels of Hominy, Okla., Rita Walezak of Chesterfield, Mo., and Dorothy Wolff of Cushing, Okla.; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip O. DeWalt and her son, Douglas DeWalt.

A funeral service for Marjorie will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Rhinelander, with Rev. Topher Mehlhoff officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church.  Interment will take place in Northland Memorial Park. (Carlson Funeral Home)

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the memorial fund at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 135 East Larch Street, Rhinelander, WI, 54501.
