When Rookery Run opens on Saturday, Sept. 15, the disc golf course will feature specialty signage thanks to a grant from the Rhinelander Community Foundation (RCF).

The signage will identify each hole and an environmental area designated for a monarch butterfly habitat. The 18-hole course, part of the 34-acre Newbold Outdoor Recreation Area, will have both professional and recreational tees and will be free to the public.

The course, located seven miles north of Rhinelander on Ole Lake Road, is the culmination of three years of planning, fundraising and volunteer work.
