Rhinelander mayor Chris Frederickson had no comments or updates regarding the next city administrator following two hours of closed session Monday night. The session was the third closed meeting since July 20 in which the discussion or approval of a city administrator candidate was on the agenda, with no action taken.

Following the first meeting which included second interviews of the final three candidates, Frederickson said they needed additional information before proceeding. In a second closed session on July 30, he indicated they hoped to have a decision by August 13.

No information was provided Monday the 13 to explain the reason for the additional delay.

The three candidates up for consideration are Daniel Guild, recently resigned Weston village administrator; Jeff Eder, city administrator from East Peoria, Illinois and Stephen Kill, town manager of St. John, Indiana and the center of a three-year pending court case for the alleged theft of political signs.

No information has been provided by the city council regarding any of the original 39 candidates. A date has not yet been set for another meeting to determine whether Rhinelander will be hiring from the current list of remaining applicants.
