The Northwoods United Way, Inc. will host the third annual Leaderfest, a one-day event that offers individuals opportunities for professional development, networking, and leadership skill building. The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Rondele Ranch, located at 8959 Co. Hwy K in Harshaw.

This year’s event will feature keynote speaker Paul LaPree, Vice President of Business Development for Miron Construction, who will present, “Satisfied Stinks; The Power of Emotional Connections.” LaPree has procured over $80-million of work for Miron in less than two years including a Fortune 100 Company. As part of his presentation, LaPree will explain how the human brain works in decision making and give three easy steps to connect emotionally with clients.

Other notable speakers include Brian Wendt, President at Superior Diesel, Inc. and Bell Power Systems, LLC.; Chris Dimmer, Senior Vice President and Retail Branch Network Director at Nicolet National Bank; and Ryan Zietlow, Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of the Northwoods.

Lunch, snacks, and a cheese and wine social will be included in the event. The cost to attend is $35 per person. The schedule, speaker information, and online registration is found online at https://leaderfest18.eventbrite.com. Attendees can also register by mail, with a check included made payable to “Northwoods United Way,” and mailed to: Northwoods United Way Inc., PO Box 177, Rhinelander, WI 54501. Please include the person’s first and last name, phone number, email address, and mailing address.

“We are fortunate to have a tremendous lineup of speakers who will share their real-life lessons and experiences related to leadership and finding success,” said Nancy Sattler, executive director of the Northwoods United Way Inc.  “We want to help develop strong leaders because strong leaders help create a strong community.”

The Northwoods United Way works to advance the building blocks for a quality life – health, income, and education. It serves community members in Vilas, Oneida, and Forest Counties and provides funding to dozens of agencies within these three counties.  www.northwoodsunitedway.org for a complete list of the agencies supported in 2018.
