Proceeds from the Rock'n Root mountain bike race July 14 will help RASTA fund the maintenance of trails in the Washburn Lake Silent Sports Trails Area.

The Rhinelander Area Silent Trails Association (RASTA) will host the Rock’n Root mountain bike race July 14 for the seventh time, at the Washburn Lake Silent Sports Trails Area. The race is part of the Wisconsin Endurance Mountain Bike Series Race.

Racers choose from either a 10-hour, 6-hour or 3-hour race, with individual, team, age and male/female formats for all races. The 10-mile race course follows the single-track trails at Washburn and is very challenging. The 10-hour race starts at 9 a.m.; the 6-hour race at noon and the 3-hour race at 2 p.m. Racers ride as many laps of the 10-mile course before the time limit is reached for each race.

Registration is available on-line at https://wemseries.com/ or prior to each race on-site at the Perch Lake Shelter, 7650 County Park Road. Perch Lake Park is located approximately 6-miles west of Rhinelander just off Washburn Lake Road.

Proceeds from the race are used by RASTA to fund the maintenance of single-track mountain bike, hiking and snowshoe trails at the Washburn Lake Silent Sports Trails Area.
