ArtStart staff members Ashley McLaughlin, left, and Melinda Childs, right, are pictured receiving their grant award from Rhinelander Community Foundation Board Member Mike Henry.

Downtown Rhinelander will come alive with the sound of music thanks to a $2,500 grant to ArtStart. The award from the Rhinelander Community Foundation will fund the “Eat to The Beat- Lunchtime Concert Series” on Fridays beginning July 20. The performances will run from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and include a mix of genres highlighting original songs by each performer.

“Our hope is that adding more programming and green space to the area will encourage others to do the same, creating a more vibrant downtown,” said ArtStart Development Director Melinda Childs. “Providing entertainment over the lunch hour gives those living and working downtown a nice break and opportunity to come together with their neighbors and it gives visitors yet another reason to come hang out downtown.”

For more information, or to donate to the Rhinelander Community Foundation go to www.rhinelandercommunityfoundation.com or call 715-771-9390
