SDR athletes compete at summer games

The School District of Rhinelander qualified five athletes for the State Special Olympics summer games June 6-8.
Marshall Barlowski, far right, earned a first place medal in the mini javelin throuw and a second place medal in the shot put. Daray Hawes, second from left, completed in the softball through and medaled with a second place finish. Paige Appling, left, earned a second place medal in her shot put throw and also competed in the 100-meter run where she placed fifth. Hannah Umland, second from right, brought home the bronze medal in her mini javelin throw while also competing in the 100-meter run where she finished in second place.
Stephen Herrmann, not pictured, also qualified for the state competition.
