STAR JOURNAL REPORT

Patricia Kirker

A Crandon woman who failed to show up for her sentencing hearing in Forest County Circuit Court last week has been apprehended by Custom and Border Protection officers near Laredo, Texas, the Forest County Sheriff has reported.

Patricia Kirker, 53, was convicted March 21 of five felony drug charges and was set to appear before Judge Neal A. Nielsen, III May 30 for sentencing. The felonies she was convicted of bring a maximum prison term of 50 years, six months and fines of over $200,000.

According to a press release from Sheriff John Dennee, Kirker is currently being held in the Webb County Jail and the process to extradite her back to Wisconsin will “begin shortly.” Kirker was free on a $1,000 cash bond pending sentencing.

In a separate case, an October trial is scheduled in Forest County, where Kirker will be tried for 161 charges, 11 of them felonies, related to animal mistreatment and death.
