Wabeno High School band earns first place at competition

Wabeno High School Band recently traveled to New York City  to compete in one of the Festivals of Music National Competitions held  April 28.

The Wabeno Band competed against groups from New York, Delaware and New Jersey. Band performances earn superior, excellent, good, fair or poor ratings. Wabeno received a rating of superior, first place among schools with an enrollment under 500 and Best Overall Band in the whole competition.

The band program is under the direction of Michelle Boor, who is in her 20th year at the Wabeno School District.
